How to avoid losing blocks in your s7 400 plc project

Never lose plc blocks again by trying the following;

First: Blocks Temporarily loaded in RAM

  1. Go online using SIMATIC Manager / TIA
  2. In the project tree on the left, move to the Blocks level
  3. Check details in Load Memory column.
  4. The storage area of each block is listed here e.g EPROM, RAM
  5. Transfer blocks in RAM to ROM
  6. Again check the Load memory column if the affected blocks are now stored on EPROM

Second: Faulty Buffer Battery

  1. Check for any battery warnings or faults on the PLC
  2. Before removing the battery, Turn BATT.INC lever to OFF
  3. Measure its voltage
  4. Replace if necessary
  5. In addition check if it’s properly installed

Lastly; MMC Corrupt / Out of storage

  1. Ensure Micro Memory Card / SD card is fully functional and with enough storage
  2. Replace it if need be
